This service has been such a blessing. They do so many different things, but what really stood out to me was the way they focus on real capacity building. My nephew, who’s living with Level 2 ASD, has always struggled with social skills. Other providers would just take him to the park or out to eat and call it capacity building, but it never really helped him grow.
When I got in touch with Zayd from Zyma, everything changed. He took my nephew on a proper day trip where the focus was on building life skills and social skills in a fun, meaningful way. It felt more like a “boys-to-men” experience. They went four-wheel driving at Mount Disappointment, and my nephew had the best time. The feedback I got was incredible, and he still talks about it.
Because of limited funding, we now arrange something once a month. Instead of four-wheel driving, they go hiking on different trails, and each trip is just as special. I really wish we could do this every week, but I’m so grateful that Zyma makes the most out of the funding he does have.
What makes it even better is how inclusive they are. Zayd sometimes invites other clients even from other providers so the boys can have fun together and practice their social skills in real situations. It’s something I’ve never seen before, and I honestly love it. My nephew is happier, more confident, and learning skills that will stay with him for life.

He came down, had a chat, got to know me, and ended up referring a few more clients who needed my services. Yes, the NDIS can fund housing-related supports for eligible participants who need help finding, accessing or staying in suitable homes. This may include support with daily living, help finding a place to live or short-term housing options. Visit this page to learn more.
Participants who need home & living support due to their disability may be eligible for disability housing. The support can only be included in a participant’s plan if it meets all of the reasonable and necessary criteria of the NDIS. For more information, visit this page.
No, the NDIS does not directly pay for rent or housing costs, as they’re not considered disability-related supports. However, the NDIS can fund housing-related supports if they relate directly to your disability, such as help finding and keeping a home and in-home assistance with everyday tasks. The NDIS may also cover accommodation costs for people who need specialised housing.
If you already have an NDIS plan, you can request housing support by completing the change of details or situation form, or by submitting the supporting evidence form for home and living supports. At Zyma Care, we’ll guide you through this entire process, from filling out the forms to coordinating housing once your request is approved.
